Since 2012, CycleSense has organized and managed the Tour de Valley. The Tour de Valley began as an individual time trial competition on a stunning, picturesque track in the Currumbin Valley that was perfect for this type of cycling. The stunning Currumbin Valley in South East Queensland will play host to the 2022 Tour de Valley Festival of Time Trialling on October 23. This year’s competition offers intriguing choices for both individuals and teams.
However, the Currumbin Valley’s Boyd’s Bridge is being repaired later than expected because of flooding and landslides earlier this year. As a result, there are changes to the courses for the 2022 Tour de Valley:
With most of the original course remaining, the customary 36km short course is now a 25km circle. Before Boyd’s Bridge, close to the intersection of Denning Road, is where the new course’s turn-around point is situated. The old Long Course (72km) is now 50km or two loops on the new 25km track. Lastly, the original 18km course for the Junior State Team Time Trial remains.
